Reality

The definition of reality is defined by the Merriam - Webster dictionary, as "something that is neither derivative nor dependent but exists necessarily." For some this may be an over whelming definition, and for some thus definition is not what he or she expected to read. This was not the definition I was expected. When I think of reality, I think of something that is real. It is what is happening. Some people may counter that by saying that reality shows on tv are "reality", but then they talk about how fake they are. The term reality show is used to grab the audience, to make the audience believe that what you see is what is actually happening. It creates a more interesting plot line. It is therefore not reality. Allusions are tricky. A study was done where two people stood on opposite sides of a desk, which had a paper on top. They were asked what color the paper was. One person said black, and the other said white. They were dumbfounded. They could not understand how the paper was two different colors. It was an allusion. The reality of the situation is that the paper was both black and white. Half of the paper was black and half of the paper was white. Reality is what is actually occurring. It is underneath the allusion and the make-up. It is the absolute truth.
